Rock and Gravel Delivery
Crusher run, 57 stone, and rip rap delivered by the load.
What Rock Delivery Involves
We deliver crushed stone, base rock, and rip rap anywhere in Coastal Georgia. Same trip, we can spread and compact it instead of leaving you a pile in the yard.
Picking the right stone matters more than most people think. Base rock and surface stone do two different jobs, and using one where the other belongs is how driveways fail.
When You Need Rock Delivery
- A driveway needs new base or a fresh top of stone.
- A parking pad or equipment area needs a hard surface.
- A ditch bank or shoreline is eroding and needs rip rap.
- A muddy work area needs stone so trucks can get in.
- Drainage stone is needed around pipe or a French drain.
Common Rock Delivery Projects
- Driveway base and surface stone
- Equipment and trailer parking pads
- Rip rap for ditch banks and erosion control
- Construction entrances and mud control
- Drainage stone around pipe and footings
- Walkway and shed pad base
How We Handle the Job
- 1
Match the stone
We tell you what stone actually fits the job instead of selling you the most expensive one.
- 2
Measure it up
Area and depth give us tonnage, so you are not guessing at loads.
- 3
Check access
A loaded truck needs room and firm ground. We look before we schedule.
- 4
Deliver
Stone gets dumped where you want it or dropped in windrows for spreading.
- 5
Spread and compact
The skid steer spreads it even and the roller ties it together.
Equipment We Use
- Dump truck and dump trailer for stone delivery
- Skid steer with box blade for spreading
- Compact roller for base compaction
- Excavator for placing rip rap on banks
Why Experience Matters Here
Crusher run locks up and makes a base. Number 57 drains and looks clean but rolls under a tire if there is nothing under it. Most good driveways use both, in the right order.
We have seen plenty of loads of stone wasted because nobody stripped the soft dirt first. The stone just disappears into the mud.
Rock Delivery Questions We Get Asked
What is the difference between 57 stone and crusher run?
Number 57 is a clean washed stone with no fines, so it drains well but does not lock together. Crusher run has the fines in it, so it compacts hard and makes a good base.
How much stone do I need for my driveway?
Take length times width in feet, multiply by the depth in feet, and figure roughly one and a half tons per cubic yard. Easier still, give us the dimensions and we will figure it.
Can you spread and compact the stone?
Yes. We bring the skid steer and roller so the stone goes down even and gets compacted instead of sitting loose.
Do you deliver rip rap for erosion?
We do. Rip rap works well on ditch banks and pond edges around here. We place it with the excavator so it keys in instead of rolling to the bottom.
